Spring fiction contests are now open for submissions!

Waasnode Fiction Prize

Send us your best fiction up to 10,000 words. All contest entrants will receive a complimentary copy of the contest issue, Passages North #38.

Prize: First place winners will be awarded $1000 and publication in Passages North. One or more honorable mentions may also be selected for publication.
Submission fee: $15
Contest deadline: April 15, 2016

Judge: Tiphanie Yanique, author of Land of Love and Drowning and the story collection How to Escape from a Leper Colony. She has been named one of the National Book Foundation’s 5 Under 35, and her writing has been published in the New York Times, Best African American Fiction, The Wall Street Journal, American Short Fiction and other places. Tiphanie is from the Virgin Islands and is a professor in the MFA program at the New School in New York City.

Neutrino Short-Short Prize

Send us your best short-short fiction, nonfiction, hybrid essays, and prose poems under 1,000 words. Up to three shorts may be submitted in one document. All contest entrants will receive a complimentary copy of the contest issue, Passages North #38.

Judge: Lindsay Hunter, author of Ugly Girls and the story collections Don’t Kiss Me and Daddy’s. Originally from Florida, she now lives in Chicago with her husband, son, and two pit bulls. Her new novel Eat Only When You’re Hungry is forthcoming from Farrar, Straus & Giroux.
