The Deathmask of El Gaucho is not just for those who desire to smell the mat, it’s for those wanting to see heart. Though those who grew up watching wrestling in the 80s, 90s, and now may find satisfaction in constantly wondering what it’s like to be the ones in spandex, what it’s like to be there, what it’s like to have your whole world circulate around the theater of muscles and brawn, the pages of this novella display what’s beyond the ring. In Dan Mancilla’s novella-in-short-story, you’ll read what it means to be a fan, what it means to be a star, what it takes to leave behind legacy.
